Call for papers
The Journal of Tropical Geography and Environment (GEOTROPE) is an international scientific journal which publishes original scientific articles and bibliographical reviews covering the various aspects of tropical geography and the environment, in French and, exceptionally, in English. The articles should be written in such a way as to enable them to be used for teaching purposes and/or to help students or non-specialists gather basic documentation. Short notes, corresponding to preliminary results or research in progress, and technical data sheets may also be published.

GEOTROPE is launching a call for papers for its December 2025 issue. Authors wishing to submit an article to the journal are invited to submit their complete article proposals by 25 June – 15 October 2025 at the latest on the journal’s website :

The terms and conditions of publication are set out in the journal’s editorial standards, which must be consulted and complied with.
Editorial standards
Submissions must be single-spaced, Arial font, size 11. Each author must give details of his or her affiliation: first name (lower case), surname (upper case), title and rank, institution, e-mail address. Length of articles: articles should be approximately 40,000 characters including spaces and footnotes. Texts longer than this will be returned to the author for modification. The structure of the article must comply with the rules of scientific writing, depending on whether the article is a theoretical contribution or the result of field research. The structure of the scientific article must be presented as follows:
- For an article that is a theoretical and fundamental contribution: Title (French and English), First name(s) and Last name of author, Home institution, E-mail address, Abstract in French, Keywords, Introduction (justification of the theme, problematic, hypothesis/scientific objectives, methodology), Articulated development, Conclusion, Bibliography.
For an article resulting from field research: Title (French and English), First name(s) and surname of author, Home institution, E-mail address, Abstract in French, Keywords, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion (MIRAD), Conclusion, Bibliography.
